2016 Golf Cart Parade Winners Announced
Posted on Jul 6th, 2016

Hello Residents,

I would like to announce the results of the Baywood Golf Car parade held on Saturday, July 3, 2016 on behalf of our Golf Car Parade Coordinator/ Fearless Leader, George Wiker.

It did not rain on our parade and it went off as scheduled. We had a wonderful turn out. There were 28 cars that participated in the parade. Six Baywood residents did the judging. Based on three categories, Creativity, Theme, and General Appearance, with a score of 1 to 10 in each category (a perfect score would be 180) The results are as follows:

                                           ADULT CARS
THEME                   CAR NO.           FAMILY NAME       SCORE

1. PLANE CRAZY         61                  Bollinger               176
2. LOVE TRAIN          833         Porreca & Cavanaugh      176
3. PIRATE SHIP         875                Kowalewski             175

As you can see the scores were close, and ended in a tie for first place.  The judge's score cards were checked and re-checked, and the scores are correct.
A tie was declared, and each of the first place teams will have the trophy for 6 months.  Each will have their name plate added to the trophy.

                         CHILDRENS CARS.  (14-UNDER)
THEME                      CAR NO.          FAMILY NAME    SCORE

1. POLAR EXPRESS      774               Keough             148
2. BALLOON DART       868                Seitz               144
3. ZOOTOPIA             614               Hallsted            143

Actually all 28 cars were winners in their own right.  The children as well as the adults enjoyed the parade thru the neighborhood.  Unfortunately we could not hit all Phases.  As it stands, it takes 45 minutes to an hour to complete the entire route.

It was great to see many of our neighbors and friends assembled on their porches and on their sidewalks to cheer for those in the parade. We thank you all for your support and enthusiasm as a lot of time and effort goes into planning the parade and decorating the carts.

We look forward to next year's July 4th festivities and hope to see many, many more of our neighborhood golf cars participating.

Regards to all,
George Wiker
