Please join your friends and neighbors at the 1st Baywood Golf Cart Poker Run.
The cost for this event is $10.00 per person.
Winners (1st, 2nd & 3rd place) will be announced at the beginning of Pot Luck being held at the Community Center at 6:00 pm.
RULES & INSTRUCTIONS:
- You must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
- All participants must be in a Golf Cart only.
- Arrive at the Baywood Community Center between 10:30 & 11:00 to check in.
- Pick your score card (one per person) with the route you will follow. We will have five (5) different routes to avoid everyone showing up at the same spot at the same time. On this score card will be five (5) designated areas or homes that you will have to visit to draw a playing card.
- Proceed to your 1st stop and draw a playing card from the deck. The DEALER will then record the picked card on your score sheet. Return the picked card to the dealer and proceed to your next stop.
- You will continue to the other (4) four designated spots and continue to pick cards and have them recorded.
- At your 5th and final stop, which will be the Community Center, draw your last card.
- If you are not happy with the final poker hand you have drawn, you will then have the opportunity to purchase one additional card. This move will cost an additional $5.00 (paid to the dealer). After you have drawn your 6th card, you will then make the decision what (5) five cards you will keep and return the (1) extra card to the dealer.
- This additional move can only be made ONCE and ONLY at stop #5 (the Community Center).
- You can NEVER have (2) two of the same card recorded on your score sheet. If the card you draw is a duplicate of a card previously recorded at another stop, it must be returned to the dealer and another card will be picked. Example: if you draw an Ace of Hearts at one stop and draw another Ace of Hearts at another stop, one must be returned to the dealer and you will then re-draw another card.
- When your hand is complete, return your score card to either Janice Henning or Debbie Wilkins at the Community Center.
- After all cards are returned, the Committee will review and determine the winners. The winners will be the (3) highest 5 card poker hands.
- In case of a tie, the suits will be rated from highest to lowest value as follows: Spades, Hearts, Clubs and Diamonds.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Prize amounts will depend on the amount of participants and the total amount collected.
- All money collected will be awarded in the prizes.
- Although this is called a run, it is NOT a timed race. Slow down, be safe and have fun.
- If you don’t know how to play poker, don’t worry. We will have the Poker Hand Rankings listed on your score sheet. NO WILD CARDS will be used.
- We will be using (1) one deck of cards at each station. If we have more than 52 participants, we will start a new deck of cards as needed.
- Make sure all your cards have been recorded correctly, by the dealer, before you leave each station. You will never record anything yourself.
Please RSVP and pre-pay your $10.00 CASH entrance fee by Wednesday, August 28, to Janice Henning, 33768 Caddies Way. If no one is home, you may leave your payment in the yellow wagon on the front porch. Make sure your name is on the envelope.
In case of bad weather, the rain date will be Sunday, September 1st.
