Fort Miles Day Trip & Luncheon
Location:
Time: 9:15am
Description:

We will depart from the Community Center in Baywood at 9:15 AM and proceed to Cape Henlopen State Park via carpool.

There is a lot of work being done there to restore bunker 519 to its original condition.  The huge 16" gun, originally on the U.S.S. Missouri, is now on display there.  Cost of the guided tour is $5.00 per person, which includes a gratuity for the tourguide.  The tour does involve some walking.  It is wheelchair restricted.

The tour will begin at 10 A.M. at the Fort Miles Orientation Building and will last 1 1/2 to 2 hours.  If you have a Delaware State Parks sign on your car and are willing to drive, please let us know.

After the tour, we have made lunch reservations at Bethany Blues.  Please call us to reserve a place for you (and your guest(s)).

You can write a check made out to Friends at Baywood and put it into the box on the Staub family's front porch (33531 Cleek Way).  Call us with your head count. (302-945-1112).  You can order off the menu, and separate checks will be provided for you.

We are looking forward to learning more about this historic part of the United States in which we live.
